The Farm
The farm is located on in Franklin, Ohio. It has been a family farm for generations and has been in our family since the 1970's. The farm has been in traditional row crops and hay. We have been moving away from mono crops and parts of the farm are now in conservation through the CRP program. We still produce hay and we are building up a regenerative agriculture program with the goal of using livestock to fertilize the soil increase biodiversity and minimize invasive species - specifically our nemesis, honeysuckle.

Sustainability
We are implementing regenerative farming practices with the goal of using our livestock to not only provide healthy food for our community but to actually improve the condition of the land that we farm. We use chicken tractors to move our meat and egg laying chickens every day. This way, they have access to fresh grass, seeds and bugs and their manure fertilizes our hay fields. In the photo to the left you can see a green stripe where the chicken tractors were moved last year.

The Freeloaders
Most of our animals have a job to do, the exceptions are the dogs, from left to right Dolly, Ambrose, Rooibos and Chester. Our little Nigerian Dwarf does will hopefully provide milk for our family, but Paul Bunyan, the big goofy Saanan weather, is strictly a pet. Our young daughter is the life of the party and interested in all the animals but she is not providing a whole lot of help just yet.
